    We were delighted to welcome a past winner of the

 Samuel Morrison Trophy as one of our judges.

 Cathy Snow - Coyne of Moorland  Connemara Ponies,

 and her husband, Martin, produced the 2007

 All Ireland Champion Foal, Moorland Easter Lily.

Her co-judge was John Noel Mullan,  from Cleggan,

for whom it was a first trip to the Portadown venue.

We were blessed with a day which, bar one short

 shower during the foal final, was dry, and mostly sunny !

 

 Class 1.  Part-bred Connemara Youngstock, up to and including 3 y-o.

          Special prize and rosette for the best part-bred foal.

Class 6. NEW FOR 2011. Progeny Class.

    Team of two ponies, not necessarily the property of one owner.  They must be at least 50% related, e.g. parent and son or daughter, full or half siblings, and may be pure and/or part-bred, providing the part-bred(s) are at least 50 % Connemara and this is confirmed on the passport, i.e., at least one parent must be purebred Connemara.

 Open to colts and stallions, geldings and females but not including mares and foals entered in Classes 9 and 10. However the mare may be paired with another related pony. Each pony will contribute 50 % of the marks for the team.

 

To allow for those owners who find that someone else has a pony at the show who is related to their own, entries to this class may be made both prior to the show and on the field.
