CLASS 1

Pure bred Connemara, 4 or 5 years old.

Animals must be registered in the CPBS.

 

CLASS 2

Pure bred Connemara, 6 years old and over.

Animals must be registered in the CPBS.

 

CLASS 3

Part bred Connemara, 4 or 5 years old.

Animals must have at least one Connemara parent.

 

CLASS 4

Part bred Connemara, 6 years old and over.

Animals must have at least one Connemara parent.

 

CLASS 5

Pure bred Irish Draught, 4 or 5 years old.

Animals must be registered in the IHR.

Stallions RID x RID.  Mares and geldings RID x RID or AID.

 

CLASS 6

Pure bred Irish Draught, 6 years old and over.

Animals must be registered in the IHR.

Stallions RID x RID.  Mares and geldings RID x RID or AID.

CLASS 7

Part bred Irish Draught, 4 or 5 years old.

Animals must have at least one RID parent.

CLASS 8

Part bred Irish Draught, 6 years old and over.

Animals must have at least one RID parent.

***NB. If numbers are not sufficient, the classes will be amalgamated as follows :-

SHOW JUMPING – COMMENCING 10AM

One show Jumping class per animal only

Class 9 from 10 – 11.30 am             Class 10 from 11.30 am – 1 pm

2nd round will be timed.

 She was first on Archie and third on Rowan with the first three qualifying.
 We are very excited,  but Clare may need to get a job to fund it  !!! "

Nicola Brown's Corha Delight was 3rd in the in-hand mare class. 

John McKay's colt foal out of his homebred Glendun Misty Dawn won the colt foal class. In the Ridden Class, Clare Brown and Ceide Rose took second place and Reserve Champion Ridden, with Jayne Maxwell and her grey mare, Abbeyfern, in third.

Galloon Rollover, the bay stallion bred by James Naan in Newtownbutler, gave an exceptional ride to the judges at Malvern in the NPS Spring Festival at The Three Counties showground. CONNEMARA SCHEDULE
 
Classes will take place in the Connemara Ring, Ring 3, and will be judged in catalogue order.
Where it is stated 'CPBS Registered', this also includes registration through daughter societies, such as the BCPS.
 


  
Part-bred Registered Connemara Ponies 

 

Part-bred Connemara Ponies must have either their sire or dam registered with CPBS, and this must be confirmed on their passport. 

 

Class 1.    Part-bred Connemara Pony or small horse  up to  3 yr old. Special rosette and prize for the best part-bred  foal.  Either sire or dam must be registered with CPBS. Passport must be shown to the steward for those 1 y-o or over. In the case of foals, the mare's passport must be available. A separate foal class will be considered if there is sufficient interest.

 

 

Purebred Registered Connemara Pony Classes


Class 2.    Connemara colt & filly foals, not already qualified for the final. Sire and dam registered with CPBS studbook. Best two colts and best two fillies qualify for All-Ireland Championship Classes B or C as appropriate. 

Class 3.    Connemara Yearling Colt, Gelding or Filly. Sire and dam registered with CPBS studbook.

Class 4.    2 & 3 yr old Connemara Colt, Gelding or Filly. Sire and dam registered with CPBS studbook.

Class 5.    Connemara Youngstock up to 3 yrs old. Confined to NICPBA members. Pony must be CPBS registered or eligible for registration.

 

A. Youngstock Championship. 

To be judged between all first and second prizewinners in Classes 2 - 5.

 

 

Class 6.    Young Handlers Class. Handler 12- 18 years of age.  Purebred or Part-bred Connemara pony,  4 years and over, Mare or Gelding, to be shown in hand. To be judged solely on the ability of the handler, turnout and presentation.    

Class 7.    CPBS Registered Connemara Gelding 4yrs old and over, shown in hand.

Class 8.    CPBS Registered Connemara Mare, 4 – 9 yr old, shown in hand.

Class 9.    CPBS Registered Connemara Mare, 10 years old and over, shown in hand.

 

All Ireland Connemara Foal Qualified Finalists

 

Class B.    All Ireland Connemara Qualified Filly Foals Class (1st & 2nd placed foals will be judged in Final.)

Class C.   All Ireland Connemara Qualified Colt Foal Class (1st & 2nd Placed Foals will be judged in final)

 
All Ireland Champion Connemara Foal
All Ireland Registered Connemara Foal Championship (1st & 2nd prize winners from classes B & C.)  

The Winner will receive The Samuel Morrison Memorial Perpetual Trophy.

Class 10.    Part-bred Ridden Connemara Pony up to 158cm, Mare or Gelding, 4 yrs old and over. Rider any age. 

Class 11. Ridden Registered Connemara Pony 4 yrs old and over, Rider under 16 years on January 1st 2010.  

Class 12. Ridden Registered Connemara Pony 4 yrs old and over, Rider over 16 years on January 1st 2010.

F.   Supreme Connemara Show Championship

 

 Registered Connemara Show Champion & Country Comes To Town Trophy.
